Library Overview TAPMI

Overview

T.A. Pai Management Institute was established in 1980, and the first batch of the PGDM programs started in 1984. As an integral part of the institute, the library started functioning along with the institute with a small collection of about 500 books and 50 periodicals. 1985, the institute moved to a new independent building, including a library and other infrastructure. In 1992, the institute expanded its infrastructure with a new academic block. The library moved to the first floor of the new building (5000 sq. ft.). 2000, the library was further expanded, covering part of the ground floor (7000 sqft). Finally, in 2009, the institute moved to an independent campus, spreading over 42 acres of scenic land. The campus has air-conditioned classrooms, hostels, a library, and a student centre with state-of-the-art technology installed.  The Knowledge Centre houses the Library and Computer/Data Centre.

Since its inception, the library has been striving to provide strong academic support by adding quality resources. Over the years, it has been equipped with high-quality books, periodicals and other reading materials. Its extraordinary collections include Student project reports from the first batch, company annual reports, HBS, Data books, and institute publications.    CD/DVD collection has grown over the years. Similarly, the library timings also witnessed significant changes from the regular 8 hours/day to the current 17 hours/day pattern with opening on holidays too.
