Overview
The Library, which was established in 2010, is situated behind Manipal Post Office, in the old TAPMI building have been shifted to the 15th of August 2024-Old WGSHA-Building, Next Fortune Valley View, Manipal. The library occupies an area of 2582 sq. ft. Besides the comfortable seating and reading environment facilities. The aim of the library is to acquire and disseminate information on Geopolitics, International Relations (Study Abroad Program), Polish and Northeast Studies, along with Political Sciences, Economics, Languages, History, Military Science, and Social Sciences. Besides traditional carriers of information such as books, theses and journals, the library is well-equipped with print and online journals, a journal database, a computer lab etc. The library is automated with KOHA library software and is Wi-Fi enabled.Spaces-Areas-2582 sq. ft.
Objectives
- The aim of the library is to acquire and disseminate information on Geopolitics, International Relations (Study Abroad Program), Polish and Northeast Studies, along with Political Sciences, Economics, Languages, History, Military Science, and Social Sciences. Besides traditional carriers of information such as books, theses and journals, the library is well-equipped with print and online journals, a journal database, a computer lab etc.
- Access to e-resources (online databases, online journal and e-books etc.) subscribed by the library is also available remotely to all the users (students, researchers and faculty members) through OpenAthens account. OpenAthens – Single Sign-on (SSO) is enable the users of the library to access e-resources remotely using their office 365-learner.manipal.edu/manipal.edu login credentials.
- The library is automated with KOHA library software and is Wi-Fi enabled, to provide timely, accurate, and up-to-date information and resources.

Administration
The library is led by a professionally qualified Librarian. Apart from the Librarian, there are one supportive staff member who handle the library's daily operations. These staff member is responsible for ensuring users access the necessary reading materials.

Cataloguing
The availability of library materials like - books and journals can be checked through the library’s online cataloguing, the WEB-OPAC. (Koha)
Library Users
The faculty, students, and researchers of the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations users of the library.
Guidelines for the users:
- All Students who visit to the library should bring their Identity Card
- The library is kept open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- All the students must enter their name and registration number in the register kept at the entrance
- Without producing the library card, no books are issued
- All books/journals and other library materials are to be used with care
- Personal belongings and books should be Left in the property shelf provided in the library
- Personal belongings should not be left unattended. The library can not be held responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings.
- Books, Journals, etc., taken from the shelves for reading should be left on the table after use and ‘NOT’ to be replaced on the shelves
- No user shall deface the library books by underlining or scribbling notes in the margins, etc.,
- Loss or damage to library Books user should be reported immediately. The user must pay the cost of replacing a lost or seriously damaged book
- Mobiles phones are to be switched off or to be kept on silent mode in the library
- Strict silence, and discipline must be maintained in the library.
- Smoking, eating, drinking (except water) sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the library
